Hands-On Labs

Volunteers supervise a group of 4-6 students as they experience the science lab, encouraging a successful science lab experience. This involves helping students read and understand directions, learn science lab skills such as using equipment, measuring, observing, recording data, discovering concepts, summarizing results and drawing conclusions. Science lab schedules are developed with teachers to support the planned curriculum. Volunteers are recruited to help, getting copies of the lab in advance to review the procedure and concepts. Volunteers use Sign Up Genius to register for labs that fit their schedules.
